Fantastic Modern Modular Sofa and Tables

This listing is for a fantastic and unique modular sofa and table set, consisting of two small sofas with built in side tables / magazine racks, one corner end table, and a coffee table that assemble into a large corner unit. The pieces are all finished in a blond colored wood, with orange/red vinyl seats and what looks like a black inlay on the coffee table. This set is very original, and very (late) mid century.

It is hard to assess the value of something like this, but I will say that if I had somewhere to put this, I would be picking it up rather than writing about it. This is a great opportunity to own a unique and beautiful set of furniture.

Mid Century Industrial Metal Sofa

Unique piece of furniture - $75 (South Arlington)

This listing is for a wonderful industrial, mid century metal sofa with wood armrests and Army green vinyl upholstery. The sofa has two seat cushions and two back cushions, which float from the seat. This is a very utilitarian piece that would go great in a number of settings, particularly if you have a Steelcase or similar office (this may even be a Steelcase piece). At $75 (and willing to consider offers) this is a steal. Appears to be in good condition. Act fast - will not be around for long.

Sun Room Sofa

1960s Florida Sun Room Sofa Excellent Condition - $70 (Alexandria)

This listing is for a simple, mid century sofa in what looks like its original upholstery in good condition (vinyl maybe?). It has a classic, long, low horizontal build that is very modern, and appears to have a metal frame (which the seller states is "totally structurally sound") and possibly wooden arms. The fabric gives a nice warm touch of color without being too loud or too subdued.

This is a nice piece that would look great in a sun room, or even living room or den. It is only $70 - what else can I say!

Beautiful, unique Asian modern couch and table

Asian modern sofa and coffee table from the 1960s - $175 (NW)

First of all, to be clear, the price is $175 for the sofa and $175 for the table, or $300 for both. Why anyone would buy one and not the other is beyond me. It is also sad to think that after 50 years this set my be split up. But in any case, this is a beautiful set. Very unique, very modern, very Asian. Mid century modern and Asian design have a lot in common (low horizontal lines, simple clean design) and these pieces offer a great example.

There is not much else to say, other than that I wish I had room for these, because I would be out picking them up rather than posting them here!!

Beautifully ugly - and FREE

CIRCA 1960 STYLE WALNUT COUCH (CENTREVILLE)

Probably the ugliest upholstery I have seen in my life.  However, this couch has a cool, lounge style and has a lot of potential - I love the legs and the wood detail on the arms, and if it is walnut as the owner says, it is likely still sturdy and easily refinished (if necessary).

Given that the couch is FREE, you could easily invest a few hundred bucks in getting it reupholstered in whatever color you choose.  Or just ditch the back cushions.

Get it while it's hot! If you don't - I might.
