Beautiful, unique Asian modern couch and table

Asian modern sofa and coffee table from the 1960s - $175 (NW)

First of all, to be clear, the price is $175 for the sofa and $175 for the table, or $300 for both. Why anyone would buy one and not the other is beyond me. It is also sad to think that after 50 years this set my be split up. But in any case, this is a beautiful set. Very unique, very modern, very Asian. Mid century modern and Asian design have a lot in common (low horizontal lines, simple clean design) and these pieces offer a great example.

There is not much else to say, other than that I wish I had room for these, because I would be out picking them up rather than posting them here!!

Rattan living room set... great price

Rattan Furniture - $250 (N. Arlington)

I realize that rattan is not a style of furniture that everyone loves, but it definitely falls in the mid century modern category and I do think it looks great in the right settings.  This is also a phenomenal deal.  

The listing is for an entire living room set, purchased in Japan in 1949, and including a three-piece sectional sofa, two end tables, coffee table, footstool (hassock), two arm chairs, and a waste basket.  Rattan furniture can be quite expensive; $250 for all of this pieces is simply an unbeatable price. The seller says that the cushions are in "good shape" but may need recovering. There is not much information about the condition of the furniture so it is definitely worth a look before committing to anything, but the pictures show pieces in at least good condition.

A great deal if you are looking to turn your living room into a tiki lounge, or just like rattan furniture with mid century-flair.

Beautifully ugly - and FREE

CIRCA 1960 STYLE WALNUT COUCH (CENTREVILLE)

Probably the ugliest upholstery I have seen in my life.  However, this couch has a cool, lounge style and has a lot of potential - I love the legs and the wood detail on the arms, and if it is walnut as the owner says, it is likely still sturdy and easily refinished (if necessary).

Given that the couch is FREE, you could easily invest a few hundred bucks in getting it reupholstered in whatever color you choose.  Or just ditch the back cushions.

Get it while it's hot! If you don't - I might.
