This listing is for an olive green (gold?) lounge chair and ottoman made by Overman. The Overman Furniture company originated in Sweden in the late 1950s / early 1960s and later expanded production into Germany and ultimately Tennessee, USA. The company was founded by Swedish designer Carl Eric Klote. The signature characteristic of Overman furniture pieces is that they are constructed on molded expanded polystyrene (EPS) frames--the same thing used to make packing peanuts and rigid panel insulation--which makes them both lightweight and, supposedly, very durable. Klote went on to form Klote International, which uses this same material as the basis for its furniture line today, and comes with a 25 year warranty on all EPS frames.

Although not exactly a high-end design piece, this Overman chair has great 1960s modern and somewhat space age style at a great value. I also think the color is a nice mix of being colorful/bright, while not overly so. And doesn't everyone need a good lounge chair to read, or watch TV from?

The chair and ottoman appear to be in good overall condition (tight upholstery, seemingly firm padding, no obvious stains or tears), and at $100, the price is very reasonable. Good buy!

Here is a listing for a large Danish modern dresser and nightstand set. Although the seller states that these are walnut, they appear to be teak veneer, as common for Danish modern furniture from the 60s and later. In the pictures the condition looks quite good although it is a bit hard to tell.

In any case, this is a great deal at $200 for the pair "or best offer". The seller also states that he/she has a number of other items available, so if you are heading over there there may be more similar pieces to check out.

Furniture like this is very collectible right now, and this set could easily sell for $400-600. These will be gone very soon so don't wait. If you contact the seller first, offer $150 cash and say you'll get them out today - they're probably yours.

This listing is for a pair of two-tiered end (lamp) tables made by Lane as part of their Acclaim series that debuted in the early 1960s. The most distinct design feature of this series is the giant dovetails and contrasting use of light and dark woods (walnut and oak). The dovetails are "simulated" in the sense that they are actually a design feature, made from die-cut walnut and oak veneers (though the rounded border of the top (bullnose) is actually solid oak), rather than a structural feature made from solid woods. This allowed Lane to give an appearance of a piece that was constructed with high-quality walnut and oak in a complex form, when in reality the piece is constructed rather simply and largely using less-expensive woods (see more detail here). They also boast tapered legs and rounded forms that are quintessential to 60s American modern furniture... very futuristic!

The Lane Acclaim series is very collectible right now (read this article, for instance), and these have been selling strongly on both eBay and Craig's List for some time. A recent listing on eBay had just one of these tables, which sold for $139 (in Orange, CA).

These are solidly constructed and beautiful pieces of furniture that have survived the test of time and will last well into the future. They would make a great addition to your home as lamp tables or even bedside tables. Assuming there are no structural problems, cracks, or burns, these are a great deal at $99 for the pair. Act fast, because these tables will not last!
