Rosewood Platform Bed with Floating Nightstands - $200
Maurice Villency Bed Frame - $200 (NW - American U area)
Great price! This is a very modern, low profile queen-size platform bed with built in under-bed storage (drawers) and built in floating nightstands (also with drawers). According to the seller, the piece is made of Brazilian rosewood (not clear whether it is a veneer).
This is a more recent piece of furniture, from the early 80's, but borrows many elements from mid century design.
The maker, Maurice Villency, is a high-end design and furniture company based in New York, and dating back to 1932. It was started by a European immigrant, Maurice Villency (shocked?), who was a furniture designer and craftsman. You can see their website for more information. They also made some really nice furniture during the"real mid century", for instance see this piece, including collaborations with famous designers of the time, like Milo Baughman - see this piece.
All in all, this is a great deal on a very nice and functional piece of furniture. A basic bed frame with under bed storage, no headboard, and built from pine is $350 at Ikea.
